The Beam Magazine presents a novelette ‘Dil Yeh Ziddi Bada‘ by Momena Balouch.
Momena has recently done her Masters in Media and Communication. Urdu reading is her hobby. She gradually developed an interest in writing, leading to her first attempt in Dil Yeh Ziddi Bada.
This short story revolves around a father-son relationship which is interrupted due to some misunderstandings. It is the story of Shahwez, from adolescence till his adulthood, and captures the trials and tribulations that he goes through in his life. He has, of course, some calming influences in his life, such as his grandfather’s youngest brother ‘Rahman’, as well as ‘Nimra’, his silent admirer. The novelette deals with a serious topic, and the author deserves all credit for dealing it admirably, as well as for presenting both points of view.
