The Beam Magazine presents ‘Bhool Hui Hum Se’, by Neelam Riasat. Neelam Riasat, as an author, needs no introduction. She is known for her versatility and her impressive storytelling qualities. In this story also, she has beautifully captured the ups and downs of a young couple, overcoming the obstacles of their past. The story covers a number of social issues of our insensitive society. The female protagonist Safa used to be a charming and carefree girl, who used to live and indulge in her own dreamland. She had an easy life and could be called a complete rich girl, who seemed ignorant most of the time with the situations or happenings around her; despite being far from perfect as per the measures of this society, where being skinny is one of the essential features to be called as beautiful.
Daud, on the other hand, is the brightest, smartest and most handsome kid of their family. He is charismatic, and knows his magic around the opposite sex. He is overfed with male ego, and straight forward to the point of being rude at times.
Their journey as a married couple takes some drastic turns when Daud’s straight rejection leaves Safa shattered and wounded. Follow them in their love-hate relationship, and how they perceive their happily ever after.
