The Beam Magazine presents an afsana ‘Taqaaze’ by Muhammad Arfan.
Arfan is from Sialkot, and is in the Final Year of his graduation.
Here Arfan presents an afsana that is highly nuanced in its expression. His writing style is very different, almost poetic and lilting to the senses. Taqaaze is the story of a teenager who is deeply affected by his parents’ marital problems. He is going through life as best as he can, until a girl (known only as ‘mohtarma’ throughout the story) comes along and leads him to his moment of enlightenment.
